Prakash Institute of Medical Sciences & research, Urun-Islampur (Sangli-Maharashtra), established in the year 2016, under the aegis of Prakash Shikshan Mandal, and it is named after Shree Prakash Ji, the late father of the founder Shree. Nishikant (Dada) Bhosale-Patil. The objectives of the Institute are: a)to create a centre of excellence for providing medical care, education and research facilities of a high order in the field of medical sciences with specialities and super- specialty services including continuing medical education and hospital administration. b)To develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate level and in specialities and super specialties so as to set a high standard of medical education. c)To provide training in paramedical, nursing and allied fields, particularly in relation to specialties and super-specialties. d)To function as a referral hospital to cater tertiary care services. e)To provide post graduate teaching and conduct of research in the relevant disciplines of modern medicine and other allied sciences, including inter-disciplinary fields of Physical and Biological Sciences. The Institution, spread in about 100 acre campus, is gradually growing into a prestigious university. Institution is located on peth-sangli state highway 5 km away from peth town (Pune-Bangalore highway). It is well connected by road, rail and by air to the Sangli-Miraj, Kolhapur, Belgum and Pune cities. Today, PHRC has all the broad specialty medical departments and super-specialities, and is developing into a centre of excellence for providing medical care, education and research activities of a high standard in the field of medical and other allied sciences including inter- disciplinary fields of physical and biological sciences. In addition to these, PHRC also provides training in para-medical, nursing and allied fields, particularly related to specialities and super- specialties. Proposal is submitted for establishing deemed university and the separate dental college. The Institution is recognized for 150 MBBS admissions by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and the National Medical Council of India (NMC). NMC has granted permission to start MD/M.S. broad speciality courses in the following subjects.
